Purchase and integration of an ERP system
Established in 2011, Solo Containment (‘Solo’) was created to leverage the decades of experience and knowledge gained by its founder Martyn and Caroline Ryder in the ‘containment’ market. Together with containment engineer Neil Cocker, they launched their ‘glove bag’ and flexible film containment systems into the UK market and have steadily grown the business by bringing new, innovative and cost-effective containment solutions to the market. We have a purpose designed production facility in Poynton, Cheshire and this customised manufacturing environment is ideal for research, development and production of flexible containment solutions. The majority of our customers operate in the pharmaceutical sector.
To underpin our future growth we need to ensure our systems, processes and associated infrastructure are fit for purpose to ensure we continue to meet our customers’ expectations.
We are currently limited by a lack of process automation and predominantly MS Office (Excel) based information management in respect to production scheduling, project estimating, highly technical compliance documentation management and product design which – as we become increasingly busy – can result in both product development and manufacturing inefficiencies that increasingly impact on our ability to deliver order on-time and on-budget. In addition to spreadsheets, we use Pegasus Opera which provides core financials and the basis for management reporting, part numbers, BOMs, sales orders, CRM, and purchase orders.
